Esperanza

Reivindicamos y dialogamos. Con responsabilidad. Con propuestas. Con compromiso. Con confianza y grandes dosis de alegría.
Avanzaremos todos/as juntos, a una. Sin dejar atrás a nadie.
Y pintaremos… otros mundos posibles.”

Misterio

unas notas musicales
revoloteando en el calor de la tarde
recorriendo kilometros
sigan tocando y alegrando

Muhammad Ali

As Muhammad Ali celebrates his 70th birthday, the world has paused in recognition of one of the truly great figures in sports history. Ali has transcended the sporting world and has become an international presence, more recognizable than most presidents and historical figures.
Here's a look at sixteen interesting facts about the greatest heavyweight of all-time:
— is 19-3 against fighters listed on Ring Magazine's Top 50 Greatest Heavyweights list.
— was kept sidelined in the sport for 3 and a half years, from 1967 to 1970 for refusing military service. However, his license was never revoked.
— won a gold medal as a light heavyweight at the 1960 Olympic games in Rome.
— was born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. Hence, his early nickname, the 'Louisville Lip'.
— in September, 1976, after winning a unanimous decision against Ken Norton, admitted to sportswriters that he should've lost.
— was first trained as a professional by legendary former world champion, Archie Moore. Moore was soon released after proving to be too strict and no-nonsense for the outgoing Clay. It was then that Angelo Dundee was brought in.
— failed the mental aptitude test in 1962 when he registered for Selective Service and was classified unfit for service. Later, as the country needed more soldiers for the Vietnam War, a new classification was issued and Ali found himself classified 1-A (fit for service).
— recorded an album for Epic Records in 1964 titled "I Am The Greatest." The track, "The Gang's All Here" was produced by Sam Cooke.
— His bout with underdog, Chuck Wepner, inspired Sylvester Stallone to write the screenplay for the movie, "Rocky." The lead character, Rocky Balboa, was patterned after Wepner and antagonist, Apollo Creed, was based on Ali.
— Ali was the first man to knock down Sonny Liston, George Foreman, and Chuck Wepner.
— patterned his ring persona after bad guy professional wrestler, Gorgeous George. Ali once said, "I saw fifteen thousand people coming to see this man get beat, and his talking did it. I said, this is a good idea!"
— Ali's maternal great-grandfather was Abe Grady, a native of Ireland. Through this lineage, Ali is a distant relative of Generals Robert E. Lee and George Smith Patton Jr.; actors Lee Marvin, Glenn Close, Laura Dern, and Hilary Duff; journalist, Katie Couric; cyclist, Lance Armstrong; and U.S. Presidents, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor and Benjamin Harrison.
— has portrayed himself in four different motion pictures.
— has appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated on 37 different occasions, second only to Michael Jordan.
— has been married four times and has seven daughters and two sons
— In a 1993 research study to determine the most recognizable athlete of all time, the Associated Press reported that Ali was tied with Babe Ruth as the most recognized athlete in America. The study found that more than 97% of Americans over 12 years of age knew and could recognize Ali.

Dolphin

Dolphins in captivity have a very high death rate and they suffer from pneumonia, various infections, stomach ulcers, and stress, and whales and dolphins that are born in captivity often die within the first weeks or months of their lives. Dolphins are amazing, highly social, sentient creatures and captivity causes endless pain and suffering. The optics of Swim with Dolphin programs are enhanced by smoke and mirrors, but make no mistake, there is pain behind the dolphins’ smile.
The horrific dolphin slaughter in Taiji is driven by the live dolphin trade. I am a Cove Veteran and I have witnessed the dolphin slaughter in Taiji. The dolphins that survive this brutal drive fishery are traumatized because they witnessed the death of their families. These captives are packed in coffin-like boxes filled with ice and shipped as cargo. They then spend the remainder of their lives “dying to amuse us”.

10 things I hate about you

I hate the way you talk to me,

and the way you cut your hair.

I hate the way you drive my car,

I hate it when you stare.

I hate your big dumb combat boots

and the way you read my mind.

I hate you so much it makes me sick,

it even makes me rhyme.

I hate the way you’re always right,

I hate it when you lie.

I hate it when you make me laugh,

even worse when you make me cry.

I hate it when you’re not around,

and the fact that you didn’t call.

But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you,

not even close…

not even a little bit…

not even at all.

"Muerte,no te envanezcas
aunque te hallan llamado
poderosa y terrible
pues tu no eres asi
ya que aquellos que crees
por tu fuerza abatidos,
no mueren,pobre muerte
despertamos eternos
y muerte ya no habrá más,
muerte, tu morirás

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

"I have forgiven mistakes that were indeed almost unforgivable. I've tried to replace people who were irreplaceable and tried to forget those who were unforgettable. I've acted on impulse, have been disappointed by people when I thought that this could never be possible. But I have also disappointed those who I love. I have laughed at inappropriate occasions. I've made friends that are now friends for life. I've screamed and jumped for joy. I've loved and I've been loved. But I have also been rejected and I have been loved without loving the person back. I've lived for love alone and made vows of eternal love. I've had my heart broken many, many times! I've cried while listening to music and looking at old pictures. I've called someone just to hear their voice on the other side. I have fallen in love with a smile. At times, I thought I would die because I missed someone so much. At other times, I felt very afraid that I might loose someone very special (which ended up happening anyway.) But I have lived! And I still continue living everyday. I'm not just passing through life... and you shouldn't either. Live! The best thing in life is to go ahead with all your plans and your dreams, to embrace life and to live everyday with passion, to lose and still keep the faith and to win while been grateful. All of this because the world belongs to those who dare to go after what they want. And because life is really too short to be insignificant."

Loris Magaluzzi

El niño
está hecho de cien.
El niño posee
cien lenguas,
cien manos,
cien pensamientos,
cien formas de pensar de jugar y de hablar.

Cien, siempre
cien maneras de ensanchar,
de sorprender y de amar.
Cien alegrías para cantar y entender,
cien formas de descubrir,
cien mundos para inventar,
cien mundos para soñar.

El niño tiene cien lenguajes
(y además cien, cien, cien)
pero le roban noventa y nueve.
La escuela y la cultura
le separan la cabeza del cuerpo.

Le dicen:
que piense sin manos,
que haga sin cabeza,
que escuche y que no hable,
que entienda sin alegrías,
que hable y se maraville
sólo en Semana Santa y en Navidad.

Le dicen:
que descubra el mundo que ya existe.
Y de cien,
le roban noventa y nueve.

Le dicen:
que el juego y el trabajo,
la realidad y la fantasía,
la ciencia y la imaginación,
el cielo y la tierra,
la razón y el sueño
son cosas que no están juntas.

De hecho le dicen
que el cien no existe.
El niño dice:
en cambio, el cien existe.

Marilyn Monroe

The Mystery Surrounding the Death of Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe Facts: Marilyn's Death Is A Mystery.

The circumstances of her death remain to this day controversial, a mystery which will likely never be solved.

The body of Marilyn Monroe was found in the bedroom of her Brentwood, California home by her live-in housekeeper Eunice Murray on August 5, 1962. Marilyn Monroe was 36 years old at the time of her death.

Her death was ruled to be "acute barbiturate poisoning" by Dr. Thomas Noguchi of the Los Angeles County Coroners office and listed as "probably suicide", but because of a lack of evidence, her death was not classified as "suicide".

However, there is much mystery and speculation surrounding her untimely death. There are many who believe that Marilyn Monroe was murdered.

Several people stated they observed Marilyn Monroe being secretly taken that night by ambulance to a nearby hospital before being returned again to her Brentwood home. Some claimed that Marilyn's body was then 'rediscovered' by Eunice Murray, and her psychiatrist several hours following the initial discovery of her body.

It was widely speculated that Marilyn Monroe had an affair with both Bobby and John Kennedy and that she was becoming very demanding, calling the white house very frequently. Many speculate that she was murdered to avoid an embarrassing scandal. Peter Lawford, an in-law of the Kennedys reportedly the last person to speak to her, was quoted that her final words were "Say goodbye to Pat (Lawford's wife), say goodbye to the president, and say goodbye to yourself, because you're a nice guy."

Jack Clemmons was the first police officer to arrive on the scene. He reported, "Marilyn was lying face down in what I call the soldier's position. Her hands were by her side and her legs were stretched out perfectly straight. It was the most obviously staged death scene I have ever seen. The pill bottles on her bedside table had been arranged in neat order and the body deliberately positioned. It all looked too tidy."

There is an interesting timeline of events which outline the known facts of the day of Marilyn Monroe's death.

In 2006 CBS News reported about "newly released documents and audiotapes about the night Marilyn died" in which the facts surrounding Marylin Monroe's death were detailed in an article called The Marilyn Tapes.

It is unlikely that the cause of Marilyn Monroe 's death will ever be solved.

Marilyn Monroe

Probably the most famous sex symbol of all times, Marilyn Monroe was in addition a successful actress and a talented singer. Marilyn Monroe's troubled life and apparent suicide, along with her failed relationships with the very high profile men in her life, aroused sympathy and interest amongst her fans and critics alike, no doubt helping to raise Marilyn Monroe's status as a legendary figure.

While the name Marilyn Monroe will be remembered for years to come, it is unclear to many people why. This objective of this lens is to show that Marilyn Monroe truly had it all: brains, sex appeal and talent. Marilyn Monroe was and still is unique and years ahead of her time. Sara Blakely
